Posture and playing position

Basic playing position for side-blown overtone flute is to carry the flute with one hand and handle closing and opening the flute end with another. I am right-handed but I’m learned to carry the flute with my right hand and close/open with my left hand. Try to keep good posture. Keep your shoulders back, aligned and relaxed. Use your stomach muscles to keep your body straighter. Keep your hands little bit off from your torso so the air can stream out from your lungs unhindered. Don’t push your head forward, but bring your flute to your mouth.
